You're dealing with a person, not a company — so deal carefully

What Circl does

• Every member confirms a real email address before listing or requesting an item
• Every listing is tied to a named profile with its rating and review history
• All conversation happens in Circl's chat, so there's a record of what was agreed
• We remove listings and accounts that are fake, misleading or abusive

What Circl does not do

• We do not hold, transfer or refund any money
• We do not insure, guarantee or replace items
• We do not verify identity documents or run background checks
• We do not mediate disputes or enforce agreements between members

Before you hand anything over

• Chat inside Circl first and read the owner's rules on the listing
• Meet in a public, well-lit place, or at the doorstep rather than inside a home
• Photograph the item together at pickup, and again at return — timestamped photos settle most arguments
• Write down the dates, the daily rate and the deposit in the chat, so you both have it in writing
• Take a deposit for anything valuable, and return it the moment the item comes back in order
• Ask to see an ID if it makes you comfortable — and never feel bad about declining a request

Warning signs

• Anyone asking you to pay or receive money through Circl — we have no payments at all
• Pressure to move the deal to a link outside Circl before you've agreed anything
• Refusal to meet in person or to be photographed handing the item over
• A price far below anything comparable, or a story about needing a transfer in advance

If something goes wrong

Because the agreement is between you and the other member, a serious loss or theft is a police matter — file an FIR with your chat log and handover photos. Report the member to us at the same time through the contact page: we'll investigate and remove them from Circl, but we cannot compensate you.

Things you may not list

Firearms, ammunition and weapons, prescription or medical devices, anything requiring a licence the renter doesn't hold, counterfeit goods, and anything you don't personally own. Vehicles may only be listed with valid registration and insurance.
