Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: name, email, optional mobile number and locality
• Listing content: photos, descriptions, prices and rules you publish
• Rental activity: requests, dates and the messages you exchange with other members
• Basic device and usage data, for security and abuse prevention

Why we use it

To run the noticeboard: show listings, deliver messages, keep accounts secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and answer your support requests. We take no payments, so we hold no card or bank details.

What other users see

Your first name, city, profile photo, verified badges, response rate and reviews. Your ID documents, full address, email and phone are never shown; contact details are shared only after a booking is confirmed, and only as needed for handover.

Sharing

With payment processors, KYC verification providers, our insurance partner for claims, and law enforcement where legally required. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Booking, invoice and KYC records are retained for eight years after closure to meet Indian tax and financial regulations. Handover photos are deleted 12 months after a booking closes with no claim.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or request deletion of your data from Settings, or by writing to privacy@circl.in. Deletion requests are honoured except where we must retain records by law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Verification documents are stored in restricted-access storage and are not readable by general support staff.
