About us

Most things we own sit idle 340 days a year

Circl is a small, free noticeboard started in Delhi and open across India. People list things they already own, other people ask to borrow them, and the two of them sort out the rest.

Why we built it

An entry-level DSLR costs ₹55,000 and gets used on four weekends a year. A pressure washer, twice. A sherwani, once. Buying is a poor answer to an occasional need, and there was no simple place to ask a neighbour instead. So we built one.

What Circl is

  • A searchable list of things people near you are happy to rent out
  • A direct chat between the owner and the person who wants to borrow
  • A profile and review history so you know who you're dealing with

What Circl isn't

  • A payment service — no money moves through this site
  • A rental company — we own nothing and store nothing
  • A delivery or logistics service — you collect and return in person
  • An insurer — items are lent at the owner's discretion and risk

Delhi-based, open across India

We are a Delhi team and Delhi is where Circl is busiest, but listings are welcome from anywhere in India. Renting works best when collecting the item is a short ride away, so everything is searched by locality rather than by city lists.

Written by people who use it

Circl is built and run by a very small team in Delhi who list their own things on it. If something is broken or confusing, the contact page reaches an actual person.
