Terms of use

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and resident in India, and confirm a valid email address before you can list an item or send a rental request.

2. Circl's role

Circl is a noticeboard only. Any rental agreement is made directly between the owner and the renter. Circl does not own, inspect, store, deliver, insure or price any listed item, does not process payments, and is not a party to your agreement.

3. No payments through Circl

Rent and deposits are settled between members in person. Circl charges no fees or commission and holds no funds. Anyone asking you to pay Circl for a rental is attempting fraud — report them to us.

4. Owner obligations

• List only items you legally own and may lawfully rent out
• Describe condition accurately and disclose defects
• Honour requests you have accepted, or cancel promptly and clearly
• Return deposits you have collected once the item is back in the agreed condition

5. Renter obligations

• Use the item only as described in the owner's rules
• Do not sublet, resell or transfer the item
• Return on time and in the condition received, minus fair wear
• Tell the owner immediately if the item is damaged or lost, and make it good with them directly

6. Prohibited items

Firearms, ammunition and weapons, controlled substances, prescription or medical devices, counterfeit goods, and any item requiring a licence the renter does not hold. Vehicles require valid registration and insurance.

7. Liability

Circl provides the platform 'as is' and gives no warranty about members, listings or items. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Circl is not liable for loss, damage, theft, injury or any dispute arising from a rental arranged through the site.

8. Termination

We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms, post fake or misleading listings, solicit payments in Circl's name, or harass other members.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Indian law, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Delhi.
