Why it's free

Circl charges nothing, because Circl handles nothing

We are a noticeboard, not a rental company. You find each other here, then you agree the price and the handover between yourselves.

What renters pay

  • Exactly the daily rate the owner has published, for the days you agree
  • A refundable deposit if the owner asks for one, handed over in person
  • Nothing else — no service fee, no damage cover charge, no GST added by us

What owners pay

  • Nothing to list, and no limit on how many items you list
  • No commission when an item gets rented
  • No subscription, no featured-listing charges, no payout fees — because we never hold your money

A worked example

A camera kit listed at ₹1,499/day for 3 days. The renter messages the owner, they agree the dates, and the renter hands the owner ₹4,497 plus whatever deposit the owner asked for, at pickup. Circl sees none of it and takes none of it.

How money actually changes hands

Directly between the two of you — cash, UPI, bank transfer, whatever you both prefer. Circl has no wallet, no escrow and no payment gateway. Never send money to anyone claiming to collect it on Circl's behalf; we will never ask.

Cancellations

Because nothing is paid through Circl, cancelling costs nothing. Tell the other person as early as you reasonably can — a request can be withdrawn or declined from your dashboard at any time before handover.

So how does Circl survive?

Right now it doesn't need to: running a listings board is cheap. If we ever add something paid, it will be an optional extra for owners, and renting will stay free and commission-free.
